New York Social Diary, January 19th, 2018: "All In the Family"
"This past Wednesday night in New York. There was a 25th anniversary celebration for interior designer Richard Mishaan's company Richard Mishaan Design. Lots of guests from the worlds of fashion, design, and media toured the 2,000 square foot space at his studio on Hudson Street in Tribeca filled with antiques, art, and archives gathered from 25 years of design.
Afterwards there was a small dinner for thirty guests at Yves restaurant, 385 Greenwich Street. Among the group: Jeffrey Caldwell, Debbie Bancroft, Vanity Fair's James Reginato, AD's Amy Astley, 1st Dib's Tony Freund, Michael Gross, Dering Hall's Michael Boodro, Forbes' Bettina Zilkha, Michael Clinton, Randi Schatz, Robert Rufino, Nicole Miller, Frank Dilella, Alex Pappachristidis, Scott Snyder, Helen Schifter, Sarah Dodd, and Campion Platt.
Marcia Mishaan, Richard's wife, acknowledged her husband's talent and gave guests an idea of life with the designer: "My husband has always been a visionary and my life has never been dull because of him. Whenever I come home I never know where the furniture will be. My children even asked me once why the dining room chairs were always changing."
"I am so glad I left the fashion world and decided to spend 25 years in the design business," Richard told the guests.
